Hotel Riu Plaza New York Times Square
305 W 46th St, New York, NY 10036, United States
The location of this hotel is excellent. It's only a block away from Times Square. It is, however, let down by unpleasant and inept employees. There are around 600 rooms in the hotel. However, there is a shortage of personnel. When the hotel is packed, they provide a breakfast buffet that is insanely busy. For our second morning's breakfast, we were whisked into a different area of the hotel. It was a complete disaster. We had to wait in line to go down some back steps. This has not been apologized for. Just like cattle, they were herded. The first morning, we had breakfast at a fantastic restaurant. It's smaller and less congested. When we returned the next morning at 9 a.m., a terrible staff member named Maria shoved us out. There was no apology, just a request to leave and go to the other restaurant. During our stay, our room was not cleaned at all. Even after asking reception to look into it in person. IN ADDITION TO CALLING DOWN TO RECEPTION ANOTHER TIME LATER IN THE DAY. Fortunately, one day they brought us clean towels. If you prefer service with a smile, this hotel is not for you. It was a huge letdown.
